Clothes that work well are those that complement your colouring, bodyline, lifestyle and personality.
I am a woman of a certain age (80!) and had over the last few years lost interest in my clothes as nothing seemed to look as good as it did. I had always loved fashion and going out shopping which made me feel good so when by chance I met Sue through a mutual friend I starting to ask her questions and immediately felt I could trust her to help me. We decided to sort out the colours that would be best for me as I had always loved colour but found I didn't look or feel good in what I had. This was a breakthrough for me and I quickly saw Sue again when she went through my wardrobe. I can honestly say that I feel younger and more confident in every way, it's been a real boost for me and my confidence. I have no hesitation in recommending this very charming and elegant lady to be your colour and style consultant. Go for it!

I can highly recommend Sue's skills, she has advised me when shopping for men's casual clothes on several occasions. She has a genuine talent for understanding which styles and colours work and which ones to avoid. Her opinion is far more valuable than just looking in the shop mirror oneself. Ultimately it can also be a considerable money saver, because the clothes that you do buy don't remain unworn in the back of the wardrobe.

I met Sue a few years ago when I had a very low body image. I used to wear large baggy clothes which I thought were hiding my unattractive body. Plus I wore the colours that drained my face and made me look the way I felt!!!! Sue has a genuine desire to help and has a gentle, understanding way of working with you, along with her amazing, natural talent to see which colours and styles will suit you as an individual. This creates a trust. She came to my home and showed me the correct uplifting colours to wear. Then worked hard with me to show me the good points on my body and how to enhance them. The next challenge was how to accept the parts of my body I did not like. Her professionalism and patience won through. Truly life changing. Now, I love my body and the way I look!!!! Obviously, in my case this was not a quick process. As I lacked confidence, I asked her to help me go through my wardrobe. An emotional process of letting go, which Sue completely understood and I had a “let go later” box put in the loft. We decided which clothes to keep, which to alter and which ones that could be enhanced with the correct jewellery or scarf. My desire for very comfortable shoes were the biggest stumbling block, however, with Sue’s help, I do think I have now mastered how to be stylish and comfortable. The next stage was to buy a few quality items of clothing to add to my wardrobe. Sue met up with me in town and helped me choose the best value for me, that I would wear daily and not keep for best!!! This is called “cost per wear”, a very useful way to save money. I truly cannot thank Sue enough. Every time I dress, every time I look in the mirror, every time people say how well I look, I thank Sue. I cannot put into words how wonderful this feeling is. Sue has changed my life.

Colour Analyst Sue Ellis is a wonderful asset to the team at Forest Mere, offering her services as a Freelancer here since 2001. Sue takes the time to consult and educate our guests, demonstrating how different colours from different colour families, work with their complexions. She drapes our guests not only in her outstanding knowledge, but in a variety of precision dyed silks to show many varied ways to wear their new colours in stylish and creative combinations. At the end of a session guests are treated to a colour swatch with all the colours from their family, enabling them to continue educating and enjoying their new colour choices at home. Our guests at Champneys trust Sue implicitly, leaving with a new found confidence to try new looks. Sue is well loved and provides us with a delightful addition to our list of services we can offer to our loyal guests here at Champneys, Forest Mere. Thank you so much for the colour consultation I had at Champney’s recently. Your talk was fun and interesting, but the one-on-one colour analysis was really exciting. The best thing was that you not only found the shades which suited me but that you taught me how to recognise the effect of colour on myself. The analysis has truly changed me. The colour swatches made it very easy to thin out and re-arrange my wardrobe – the ‘wrong colours’ really stood out - and I have completely changed the way I shop. I head for the colours that suit me now and then look for shapes, completely dismissing anything in colours which I know will not suit me. The scarves I bought from you in ‘my’ colours had an immediate effect which gave me a giggle – exactly as you said it would! Just in the first week I had comments such as ‘you look radiant today,’ ‘ooh you look nice’ and ‘have you had a colour analysis?’ (From a friend who’d also had it done and recognised the difference!) Thanks for making life a little easier and for a fun afternoon!
